Downstairs bathroom

On the ground floor there is a small (1.9m x 1.5m), cramped and shabby downstairs loo/wet room with a shower. Next to it is a very uninviting room that we are currently using as a laundry. As we are planning to create a utility room on the first floor, we have the opportunity to rethink the layout.

Our current thinking is that the “ripostiglio” could become our “services” room housing hot water tank, boiler, heat exchange plant etc. It has a window onto the “scannafosso” which is the woodshed and is open to the elements on one side.

We also think that the “bagno” could be enlarged to take advantage of the space currently given over to corridor increasing its length from 1.9m to 3.3m. We would retain access to the services room, but disguise the door by concealing it behind a large mirror.
