We have a large combined kitchen and dining room. It is functional, but not lovely and we have plans to address that.
This is how it looks now:











We want to remove this rather ugly addition to the dining room. It’s chimney is also a rather unwelcome grey concrete thing in the hay loft.


We would also like to reposition the back door. In this picture, you can see a bricked in arch on the wall of the covered seating area.

We understand that it was previously some kind of hatch created by the grandparents of the previous owner when they had a restaurant of sorts in the house.
If this can be made into a doorway, it would allow direct access from the kitchen to the covered seating area making it a lot easier to eat outside regularly. That would allow us to convert the existing back door into a window looking out on the garden.
