The plan for the exterior was to:
- Insulate the roof
- Add photovoltaics to the roof
- Replace windows with double glazed wood windows to match
- Add mosquito screens
- Replace old brown wooden shutters with new aluminium ones in green
- Paint doors green to match
- Render the rear facade
- Repoint the other facades
- Close the old kitchen door and create a new arched door (see kitchen transformation)
For all this work we didn’t just need approval from the comune, but also the Soprintendeza Archeologica, Belle Arti e Paesaggio.
